When the British music hall revival of 1963 (a bad idea) was first suggested, it turned out that available acts were all either octogenarians, or young upcomers who had no idea how to handle a live audience.
But Rosie Cheex gave it a go with that old Victorian ditty, "Two Minutes", which you will be pleased to hear is actually only 30 seconds.
All would have been fine, but she was seriously upstaged by the performing dog, Lotto, who was actually due on next. Lotto's act was his almost imperceptibly growing tail as he danced. Bored with sitting in his dressing room waiting, Lotto bounded on stage as Rosie began.
Professional as she was, she ploughed on.
It's really no wonder that Goldfinger, showing at the next emporium down, did so well.
