It's 1995, and in Britain at least, the idea of non-vocational degrees is falling by the wayside.
Feeble attempts at intellectually rigorous courses have been entirely thwarted by degree courses in how to make money and be generally unpleasant as an adult, all under the popular umbrella of making the world a better place for you, but worse for everyone else.
A group of down with the kids academics thought enough was enough. After a long and expensive consultation with advertising agents "Yoose, Less and Twonks", it was decided a video should be made that would be sure to catch the attention of upcoming students, who might finally flock back to choosing Philosophy as their major.
Did it work? Look around you, dear reader. Who's making hay now? Nonetheless, resurrecting this old VHS, recorded over the top of Mary Poppins by mistake, is probably worth a re-watch. Using the word "probably", of course, in its loosest possible sense.
